DECA is an organization at both the high school and collegiate levels designed to prepare students for futures as business leaders and entrepreneurs. While the focus is on business, DECA is open to all students in all majors. Wyoming DECA meets weekly and focuses meetings on professional development, career counseling, academic achievement, and community service.
Twice a year, international conferences are held for all collegiate DECA members—DECA Engage and the International Career Development Conference (ICDC). This year, Engage will be held in Tampa, Florida, and ICDC will be held in Louisville, Kentucky. ICDC is the main event where we participate in professional development activities with high-level business professionals and experts and compete in events against other students who've advanced to the international level. Last year, we were able to send the entire club to ICDC in San Francisco. Seven of eleven of us advanced to finals and finished with a multiple top 10 places, with the highest being a third place podium finish, which is known in DECA as "winning glass."
Our chapter at the University of Wyoming is the only collegiate chapter in the state, and we have grown to over 20 members this year. In order to provide our members the opportunities to grow in leadership, career skills, networking, and competition, we need your help! Your support on UW Giving Day will be put towards travel expenses for our conferences.
Thank you for your generosity in helping prepare the leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow!
*This Student Organization receives a de minimus level of base support from the University as noted in full in the About section of the Tier 2 Student Organization campaign tile.
