Competitive Speech Team (Student Organization)

The number one fear in the United States is public speaking, which is higher on the list than death itself.

Speech gives students the skills and space to overcome that fear. Unfortunately, there are very few other opportunities to learn speaking skills on campus despite most careers and workplaces valuing public communication.

Speech offers 11 events ranging from acting to podium speaking while competing at eight tournaments or more every year. Previously, speech has qualified twelve members to the national tournament and brought home regional trophies.

Your gift will pay for the travel costs that sends competitors to four states and for us to represent Wyoming at nationals. With just $500, we are able to send our team to compete at one competition and, with $1,000, to the national tournament. Our mission is to ensure that no student is unduly burdened financially so that we are as inclusive as possible to all.
