The mission of the Service, Leadership, and Community Engagement (SLCE) Office is to cultivate engaged global citizens who are active contributors to their communities.
We offer a variety of programs including local community service projects, leadership classes, voter education and civic engagement programs, and domestic and international service-learning trips. SLCE engaged more than 950 students, faculty, staff, and community members in programs during the last academic year, and SLCE volunteers contributed 3,200 hours to their communities, which is valued at approximately $107,168!
Your gift can support the following funds and more.
- The Esther and Hubert Terrell Memorial Scholarship supports students who engage with SLCE programs and volunteer in their communities to honor the memories of Esther—who volunteered serving lunch for students—and Hubert—who served as a bus driver for the school district. With your help, we can continue their legacy and offer additional scholarships to our students.
- The SLCE Discretionary Fund is a flexible account that supports students and community partner organizations when institutional funding cannot meet the need.
We so much appreciate you joining with us to improve our communities. Thank you!
