Residence Life: Events and Experiences

The Office of Residence Life is hosting two campaigns this year. They are:

Emergency Housing Fund: Residence Life is expanding our outreach and commitment to providing a safe, happy, and healthy environment to ALL University community members. Sometimes, a campus member who currently doesn't live on-campus needs temporary emergency housing. This campaign hopes to create a fund that will help pay for the costs of that emergency housing and meals.
Being granted access to emergency housing is the purview of the Dean Of Students Office and the Office of Residence Life. This fund will be managed by those units to provide support to Pokes in need of temporary emergency housing
Any support given will be a great comfort to our UW community members in the most vulnerable moments of there time at the university.
Every community member has a home and a safe place in our halls if they need it, please consider supporting that commitment by donating or sharing a donation link.
 
Events and Experiences Fund: Residence Life is committed to bringing unique and memorable events to campus to be enjoyed by all members of the campus community. Bands, speakers, foam parties, everything under the sun is being considered to help UW community members to make extraordinary memories. Any donation you send will be used to bring eccentric fun to campus. (If you donate, please also add an idea for an event or item that you would love to see the money spent on.

Res. Life is trying to incentivize individual donation. To do so, we have the following contests:

Individual donations:
100 Donations – Resident Coordinators ride a mechanical bull. It will be recorded
300 Donations – Assistant Director Kaleb Pullam rides a mechanical bull. It will be recorded
400 Donations – Associate Director Taryn Wright Davidson rides a mechanical bull. It will be recorded
500 Donations – Director Ryan Schamp rides a mechanical bull. It will be recorded
Residence Life is planning a monster sized event for March 8th, 2025. The floor with the most individual donations in its name will have the March 8th party in their honor.
 
Dollar Donations:
The top ten floors with the highest total dollar donations will have a bespoke dance party by Mr. Pullam.
Anyone can have a donation in a floor’s name, so have relatives and off-campus friends donate. $1 is enough to donate to the cause in your favorite floor’s name. Just add a note indicating in which floor’s name you are donating ex. Orr 5.
