UW Visual Arts promotes creative exploration, innovation, experimentation, scholarly investigation, and interdisciplinary collaboration through our five degrees and ten minors. We offer degrees in studio art, visual communication design, art history, and art education and minors that range from museum studies to metalsmithing, from art history to sculpture. Our program is growing, thriving, and full of positive creative energy with over 300 majors and minors in our award-winning and state-of-the-art Visual Arts Building.
Your support would help us this year in one critical area: stipends for student teachers in the bachelorās in art education degree. Our Art Education majors must complete six credits of student-teaching residencies during their final spring semester in order to complete their degree and be certified and licensed to teach Kā12 art in the state. Student teachers must often move to new towns in Wyoming, rent housing, and live on their own while completing their teaching placements. They need to focus solely on their student teaching and therefore are typically not able to hold down a part-time job to help pay for these placement expenses.
Thank you for supporting the art educators of tomorrow!
