The School of Culture, Gender, and Social Justice seeks to combine academic expertise with community engagement and educational opportunities to foster dialogue and understanding to empower positive inspirational change at the local, state, national, and global levels.
Our school has an interdisciplinary approach grounded in its rural roots and focused on the inclusion and empowerment of all people. We provide students with an education that gives them the tools to understand today’s and tomorrow’s complex social issues and to be leaders and problem solvers.
Supporting the school supports our academic programs and other initiatives:
- African American and Diaspora Studies,
- American Studies,
- Gender and Women’s Studies,
- Latinx Studies,
- Native American and Indigenous Studies,
- Community Conversations Speaker Series,
- Black Studies Center,
- Rural Social Justice Center, and
- Native Language Retention and Revitalization.
Engaged community, empowered education, inspired change! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!
