About🤠

We would like to invite you to support students through the Downey Scholarship in the Department of Psychology.

June Etta Downey (1875–1932) was an American psychologist who studied personality and handwriting. She was the first woman in the United State to chair a department at a university. She wrote 7 books and over 70 articles during her lifetime. As if her scholarly work wasn’t enough, she also wrote poetry and wrote the University of Wyoming school song Alma Mater. She was a true pioneer in science and the arts.

The Downey Scholarship was established to honor June Downey and to support the scholarship of researchers in the Psychology department. Thank you for considering supporting this invaluable fund!
