The University of Wyoming Livestock Judging Team helps students to apply learned skills at national contests and to meet producers in all segments of the livestock industry. The program instills confidence, decision making, teamwork, leadership, and dedication that are best learned outside of a classroom setting. These skills help students to become more marketable to future employment prospects.
Support received from Giving Day will immensely improve the experience for members of the Livestock Judging Team. With contests that begin in January with NWSS and end in November at the NAILE, team members get the opportunity to compete in contests across the entire country from Denver to Louisville, Sioux Falls to Houston, and so many other places in between. Of course, with all the travel and contests come plenty of expenses. A donation in support of the Livestock Judging Team helps cover our vast travel expenses that include food, hotels, entry fees, and fuel, just to name a few.
Not only do students on the team get to represent UW at national contests, but as a part of our travels students also get to visit and practice at some of the most integral livestock operations nationwide and learn from industry professionals directly.
We truly cannot thank you enough for your support, as the livestock judging team is always proud to represent UW and the entire state of Wyoming in all of our travels and livestock judging contests. Go Pokes!
