The Native American Summer Institute is celebrating its sixth successful year of providing Native American high school students a phenomenal pre-college opportunity while letting them experience all that the University of Wyoming has to offer. Please consider supporting the Native American Summer Institute!
The Native American Summer Institute is a 6-day residential summer pre-college program designed to familiarize Native American high school students from the Wind River Reservation, surrounding communities, and the town of Laramie with the University of Wyoming.
Students participate in the full college experience by staying in the residence halls, attending academic workshops, participating in activities on and off-campus, and taking part in Native American cultural activities to promote and maintain their cultural identity. The institute helps build leadership skills and new relationships with peers, UW faculty and staff, and current UW Native American college students. It continues to build and maintain partnerships with Native American communities, the UW campus, the city of Laramie, and others within Wyoming.
Each year, the institute sees tremendous growth, with applications from the Wind River Reservation and now other tribal communities in the region. With all of our growth, it is vital that we continue to expand and give our native youth an opportunity that can push them towards attaining a higher education degree and pursuing their lifetime goals.
Thank you for considering being a sponsor of our phenomenal Native American Summer Institute!
