Help the UW Geological Museum bring THE FIRST dolphin skeleton to Wyoming! That we know of…
The UW Geological Museum has been hard at work designing a world-class exhibit called ‘Wyoming’s Oceans’ that will feature Wyoming’s incredible marine fossil record and is made in honor of the late Dr. Don Boyd, a beloved Wyoming paleontologist.
As part of this exhibit, we would like to feature a full-sized dolphin skeleton and need your help to do so! Although Wyoming’s Oceans have long since gone, we would like to feature a modern dolphin skeleton to bring a little bit of modern oceans to Wyoming and show how similar Wyoming fossil marine reptiles, like an ichthyosaurus, was both similar and different from marine mammals today. This skeleton will cost over $12,000 to purchase, ship, and install.
The UW Geological Museum if grateful to our friends and donors, future and past, for making us the wonderful museum that we are and keeping our doors open. With your help, we can’t wait for you to see the new Wyoming Oceans exhibit, coming in spring of 2024.
