Help us create a fair and equitable society.
The Social Justice Research Center at the University of Wyoming is an interdisciplinary center dedicated to addressing practical and theoretical questions arising from the pursuit of social justice. It was founded in 2007 following an anonymous donation that established UW’s Social Justice Endowment Fund.
Social justice is the advancement of a fair society by challenging prejudice and valuing diversity so that all people receive unbiased treatment and equitable allowance of community resources. A just society exists when individuals’ well-being is not constricted based on gender, sexuality, religion, political affiliations, age, race, belief, disability, location, socioeconomic circumstances, veteran status, or group membership.
We cultivate social justice scholarship in the belief that, when any one group experiences injustice, democratic ideals are at risk. We support research scholars such as UW faculty, staff, and students by providing opportunities for collegial exchange, professional development, and financial sponsorship. To date, we have funded over 120 projects dedicated to advancing social justice both on campus and throughout the greater Wyoming community.
Your contribution this Giving Day will help support a new batch of scholars who are passionate about building a fair and equitable society. Thank you!
