Gifts to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion contribute to...
The goal of the University of Wyoming is to welcome and support all our students and communities on their way to success.
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion's values include a welcoming and supportive learning community fostered by integrity, inclusivity, freedom of expression, and respect. Our core mission is to support student success and make sure all students, faculty, and staff feel like they belong and matter at UW. We continue to support and deliver on UW’s mission to “unlock the extraordinary in every person through education, research, innovation, engagement, and service.”
On Giving Day, you can join us in supporting the UW campus community. We ask that you help contribute to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice by donating to our discretionary fund to meet the needs of our community and the state Wyoming.
Our discretionary fund allows us to infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion into the campus community to support students, faculty, and staff success in a number of ways. Funding supports scholarships, fieldwork, internships, corporate mentorships, diversity leadership programs, professional development opportunities, lectures, workshops, creating partnerships with diverse institutions, postdoctoral research in the sciences, diverse graduate student summer support, supporting hubs for individual cultural spaces, building faculty and staff employee networks, diverse graduate students mentorship program, and community partnerships.
UW is charged by Wyoming’s constitution and held accountable through accreditation, our strategic plan, and the Student Code of Conduct to ensure that all students can not only succeed but thrive here at UW. Our office helps with this charge. For example, our office supported a STEM department in buying fieldwork equipment because some of their students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds could not participate because they could not afford it.
Our goal is to cultivate an environment where people from different backgrounds bring different perspectives to every problem, which leads to better solutions to complex problems facing our state and nation.
Thank you for considering supporting the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in its work helping students and building community!
