According to a February 2024 survey, 1 in 3 UW-Parkside student respondents face food insecurity. A committee of volunteer Parkside staff and students is working to address this issue through its Sharing Shelves (grab and go non-perishable free food items), community garden, and bi-annual Pop-up Food Pantries (in partnership with the Shalom Center). These initiatives help students during challenging times when they have limited resources for food. The food security committee is also exploring ways to get fresh, perishable foods to students in the future. Your support makes it possible to purchase food for the Sharing Shelves as well as promote food drives and food give-away events.

Join us for Power Up for Parkside Day, a special "friendraising" event where we come together to spread the word and rally support for Parkside Day! Enjoy time with fellow Rangers as we reach out to friends, family, and our networks to make an impact.
