Support Swimming and Diving on Titans Day of Giving
Your contribution to the UW Oshkosh Swimming and Diving program will help provide our student-athletes with the resources needed to train and compete successfully.
In addition to normal operating costs, funding priorities for the program include new competition blocks and a new diving board.
The existing competition blocks are approximately 30 years old, and their outdated design keeps us at a serious disadvantage. We are in desperate need to catch up with the competition by acquiring more advanced blocks that reflect innovations in starting block design. Blocks used at conference or "high end" meets include a "wedge," which greatly enhances reaction speed. Modern blocks can come with a power box to plug in touchpads and buttons, making set up quick and easy, as well.
We are also in need of a new diving board. We last replaced one of the three boards six years ago and we are due to replace another. Boards get old, the traction wears off and the bounce becomes less "springy" over time. Our team includes one of the best divers in the conference; we owe it to them to provide adequate equipment for their use.
$50,000 is an ambitious goal but we believe that the addition of new starting blocks will not only enhance our current team’s performance but also assist in recruiting as well (recruits commonly complain about the current blocks). Please help us reach our goal, continue the success of the program and bring a sense of pride to our team.
