Support Radio TV Film on Titans Day of Giving
UW Oshkosh Radio TV Film is celebrating 60 years of excellence as an industry-focused, hands-on student experience with a proven track record of alumni success. Students have access to top-notch production facilities from day one including Titan TV, WRST, and Titan Film Society for hands-on experience. Our program is unique to the state, offering a professionally run broadcast-style curriculum resulting in higher level job entry for its students after college.
Goal: $6,000 in honor of 60 years
Investing in the Radio TV Film Excellence Fund provides the department with flexible funding to meet immediate needs. This includes emergency repairs or needed upgrades to our facilities; new, industry-standard checkout equipment; and investing in our students through film festivals and competition submissions.
A funding priority is a backup transmitter for WRST-FM, UWO’s nationally recognized, student-managed radio station. The current transmitter for the station has been in operation for more than half a century. It is the oldest transmitter of all the Universities of Wisconsin 13 radio stations. By the end of 2024, it will have been running more than 447,000 hours. There is no backup in case the transmitter fails, which it eventually will. A backup transmitter is needed to ensure students continue to learn to broadcast music, news and Titan Athletics events in a professional setting without a major interruption.
We hope to raise $6,000 for the Radio TV Film Excellence Fund--$5,000 for a transmitter and $1,000 for general support of the fund.
