Support the UW Oshkosh Model UN Team
The Model UN Team travels to New York City every April and Chicago every November, representing UWO in national and international competition. To make sure every student can participate regardless of their ability to self-fund, we’re raising $15,000 to cover essential travel costs.
Giving Levels
Attaché — $50 Provides one day of food for a delegate.
Diplomat — $150 Covers conference fees for one student.
Ambassador — $500 Provides meals for two delegates for a full trip.
Secretary General — $1,000 Covers airfare and a week of meals for one delegate.
We know these opportunities are expensive, but the return on investment in Model UN students is impressive. Our Model UN students are distinctive because they understand what it means to be an Oshkosh Delegate: they are smart, flexible, kind, inclusive, and masters of the UN process–they know how to negotiate and build relationships with anyone they encounter. Further testaments to our success are our alumni, who are working all over the world using the skills they built at Oshkosh to make a difference wherever they are.
Model UN students make friends wherever they go, and build truly global networks. There is no other program quite like it at the entire University.
Your gift of any amount ensures our Oshkosh Delegates can compete, learn, and build global connections—showing the world what Titans can do.
Thank you,
Drs. Tracy Slagter and Angela Subulwa

Your UWO Oshkosh Model United Nations (MUN) team just walked out of the UN headquarters with yet another “Outstanding Delegation” award, the top honor at the National Model United Nations (NMUN) conference. The team is ecstatic (and exhausted!) after four days of representing the Republic of Ghana on issues ranging from nuclear disarmament to the rights of displaced persons.
In addition to the overall Outstanding Delegation team award, our student delegates in General Assembly First Committee (Mollie Salzman, Lillian Johnston) won an Outstanding Delegate in Committee award (peer award). Our delegates in General Assembly Third Committee (Amelia Geiger, Cherry Weis) and our delegates in the Human Rights Council (Vladyslav Plyaka, Carter Blaylock-Schmitz) won position paper awards. We are very proud of them all!

The UW Oshkosh Model UN team is proudly led by Dr. Tracy Slagter (Political Science) and Dr. Ang Subulwa (International & Global Studies). Dr. Jennifer Considine (Communication Studies) also served as a faculty advisor during conference this week. The UW Oshkosh Model UN team is also led by an excellent student Executive Board: Elizabeth Tisler, Vladyslav Plyaka, Isaac Schill, and Maritssa Ortiz-Young.
The team is supported by the Provost's Office and the UW Oshkosh Foundation, with special thanks to Provost Ed Martini, Ms. Julia Hodgen, and Foundation Director Micki Dirks-Luebbe, as well as PAGE School Director Sara Steffes Hansen and Ms. Melissa Giddings. The team is also deeply appreciative that Chancellor Singh joined us at NMUN Opening Ceremony and offered his encouragement at such an important moment. Finally, we are grateful to the faculty and staff who work with our team to ensure they do not fall behind despite missing a full week of classes. We would not be successful without the university behind us!
