In February and March 2026, the Virginia Gentlemen will embark on an international concert tour to London and Paris, representing the University of Virginia through music, tradition, and public diplomacy. For more than 70 years, the Virginia Gentlemen have served as one of UVA’s most visible musical ambassadors, performing for alumni, universities, and international audiences around the world.
London is the first stop on the tour. In the United Kingdom, the Virginia Gentlemen will perform in collaboration with UVA Clubs Global and the UVA Club of London, connecting with alumni and friends of the University abroad. The group will also sing at the University of Oxford for a joint concert with Oxford Out of the Blue and Oxford Belles, showcasing the strong academic and cultural ties between the University of Virginia and its international partners.
In Paris, the Virginia Gentlemen will perform at the United States Embassy, supporting the Embassy’s mission of public diplomacy through music and cultural exchange. The group will also present a dedicated performance for the UVA Club of Paris, strengthening alumni connections and reinforcing UVA’s global presence.
Much of the concert programming on this tour is designed to celebrate America 250, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. Through traditional American music, UVA repertoire, and shared cultural heritage, these performances highlight the values of freedom, democracy, and international collaboration that underpin both the University of Virginia and the United States.
All performances on this tour are free and open to the public, in keeping with the mission of the U.S. Embassy and our partner institutions to remove barriers to cultural exchange and ensure broad access to the arts. To ensure a successful tour and to keep these performances accessible, we are asking alumni, families, and friends of the University to support this effort.
Your donation helps offset the significant costs associated with international touring, including airfare, lodging, local transportation, rehearsal space, and performance logistics. Every gift directly enables student musicians to represent the University of Virginia on a global stage and ensures the success of this international cultural exchange.
Thank you for supporting the Virginia Gentlemen and helping bring Virginia to Europe.
We’re incredibly grateful to the Center for Politics, the UVA Vice Provost for the Arts, the UVA Student Arts Council, UVA Clubs Global, and the President’s Office of the University of Virginia for their support.
Thanks to their encouragement and contributions, the Virginia Gentlemen are able to share UVA’s music and traditions abroad and connect with communities around the world!
