Celebrate 125 Years of the Lawrence Debate Union

This year marks 125 years of the Lawrence Debate Union (LDU). Founded in 1899 by Edwin W. Lawrence, the LDU is proud to provide students at the UVM an opportunity to enhance their communication and argument skills through the practice of intercollegiate debate.

The 2023-2024 season leading into this historic year has been especially exciting, with the LDU winning two national championships.

Help us celebrate the LDU's legacy by paving the way for an even brighter future. You can make your own mark on the history of the program by making a gift in honor of 125 years of debate at UVM.

Please consider making a gift at one of the following levels:

• Provide student meals - Make a gift of $125 or establish a recurring gift of $12.50 a month

• Send a team to a debate - Make a gift of $1,250

• Send the LDU to the World Championship - Make a gift of $12,500 and have your name on a plaque displayed at the Lawrence Debate Union.

Donors at any level will also receive a LDU 125th Anniversary commemorative sticker as a thank you for your generosity!
