The University of Utah Feed U food pantry aims to minimize hunger among our students, their families, and faculty and staff by providing free, accessible, and nutritious food. We strive to empower those in need to obtain food resources so they may focus on being healthy, happy, and successful at the University of Utah without the barrier of fighting hunger.
In this past school year, we saw a whopping 17% increase in distribution, giving out over 70,000 pounds of food. To keep up with the growing needs of our campus, we’re launched our mobile pantry last fall. It makes 8 stops on campus a month, bringing food directly to high trtaffic areas of campus and increasing both accessibility and visibility of the pantry.
Your gift today will help to support this new initiative, in addition to pantry day-to-day operations, purchasing healthy food options for our clients and supporting scholarship efforts for those advocating for food insecurity issues. Your support is paramount as we stretch to accommodate the growing needs of our community.
The Feed U Pantry also collects donations of food and hygiene items that are unopened, non-expired, and individually packaged and labeled. Donations can be delivered at any time to the red garbage bin located near the Union Services Desk.
