Help Build the Next Generation of Urology Care Worldwide
Over the past year, GU-IMPACTS (Global Urology Initiative and Multinational Partnership for Advancing Capacity and Training in Surgery) has made incredible progress training urologists and expanding specialized care in partner countries. In Cambodia, the program hosted its first hands-on reconstructive urology workshops at Kossamak Hospital and Khmer Soviet Hospital, where volunteer faculty from the University of Utah and the Mayo Clinic trained local surgeons, strengthened partnerships, and laid the groundwork for ongoing skills transfer.
In Rwanda, GU-IMPACTS partnered with IVU-Med and the Rwanda Urological Association to advance a bold vision: making Rwanda a regional hub for specialized urology care in Sub-Saharan Africa. With support from the Rwandan Ministry of Health, University of Utah Center for Global Surgery and the Cleveland Clinic the program helped Dr. Théophile Ndayishimye complete a reconstructive urology fellowship—the first of its kind in East and Central Africa. Volunteer faculty from leading U.S. institutions delivered hands-on workshops, and collaborative research and training initiatives continue to grow.
Your gift to GU-IMPACTS ensures these efforts continue. By supporting the program, you help train local surgeons, expand access to life-changing care, and build the first locally led reconstructive urology fellowship in Sub-Saharan Africa. Together, we can empower doctors to deliver specialized care where it’s needed most and give patients around the world a chance at healthier, fuller lives.
Give today to support global urology training and care.
