It's our Dirty 30! Support the Edible Campus Gardens
As a program of the Office for Sustainability Education, the Edible Campus Gardens engage our community through garden-based education and urban food production to foster environmental stewardship, community resilience, and belonging on campus. We provide hands-on learning experiences, provide free, fresh, hyperlocal produce to students, and cultivate true community on campus. The Edible Campus Gardens have created spaces of belonging, well-being, and ecological learning since 1996. Your support will plant the seed for the next 30(+!) years of garden-based education at the University of Utah.
What our students are saying:
“I have learned about what it truly takes to grow a garden: knowledge, hard work, trust, as well as what it takes to truly work as a team with diverse skillsets and ideas. I have formed connections with people who share similar values and deeply care about people and the planet. This garden space is truly an invaluable space that fosters belonging between students and the earth as we cultivate crops that support students.”
“My time as a Garden Steward in the Edible Campus Gardens Program has expanded my perspective about sustainability and increased my knowledge of urban food production. The ECG fulfills such a unique role in the University community and I highly recommend everyone at the University to spend some time in the garden.”
