The UNP Scholarship Program reduces barriers to higher education for all west side residents of Salt Lake City and West Valley City. These students are active participants in UNP-supported partnerships and other efforts that bring the university and west side neighborhoods into collaborated efforts to support their community.
These awards were started by Hal & Joan Wolf in 2007 to offer financial aid to students living in Salt Lake City’s west side. Having learned about UNP, and inspired by their son’s scholarship contributions in California, they became not just donors, but ambassadors, as they encouraged friends and colleagues to contribute to the program. Now, with a larger network of partnerships and community collaborations, there are an increasing number of students looking to continue their journey into higher education.

Through support from donors UNP has already given 199 scholarship awards over the past 19 years! Our core mission and vision for the work we do is rooted in partnership, empowerment, and key initiatives to reduce educational barriers, support lifelong education, foster resident leadership, and promote community well-being. Your unwavering support and commitment to our vision is what allows us to be able to engage with so many people and continue the work we aim to achieve. These scholarship awards are more than funds, but the first step for so many early professionals in the right direction. Thank you for your support!
