About

UT in New York (UTNY) is an internship-first experiential learning program that provides students of all majors the opportunity to live, work, and learn in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.

Over two semesters, students gain an edge in the competitive industries based in New York. Participants work with the UTNY team to enhance their professional skills. Next, they spend a semester or summer in New York taking classes and completing an internship or independent study to advance their academic and professional interests. Additional programming immerses students in the rich culture of the city, expands their understanding of local industries, and develops their networks

A Longhorn Welcome in Times Square

What We're Fundraising For

New York is a globally recognized center for numerous sectors and career fields. Building connections in New York offers a powerful entry point for our students' careers, wherever they elect to pursue it.

While working in New York is a formative experience, the city’s cost can be prohibitive. For many applicants, New York City and its opportunities are inaccessible without a scholarship.

Finances are the #1 reason students decline their program offer.

We want to ensure that more Longhorns can access these exclusive industries and competitive internships.

By contributing to a scholarship, you provide a student with the financial security to launch their career.

Your Impact

Since 2024, more students have had access to competitive internship experiences because of 40 for Forty contributors like you.

By contributing to a scholarship, you provide a student with the financial security to invest in their professional and personal growth by working and studying in a new city.

Your impact lasts far beyond a semester in New York. Thanks to you, a student will finish the program with:

  • Industry-specific and city-specific job application skills
  • An established network in New York
  • Intensive pre-professional training through coursework, internships, and company site visits
  • A bridge from studies in Austin to a career in New York or beyond

Thank you for helping a young Longhorn make it there.
