About

Texas Women's Rugby is a spirited and inclusive UT Rec Sports team dedicated to learning and playing rugby within a growth-focused group of peers! We welcome and celebrate players of all skill levels, taking every opportunity to spread our love for the sport and community. Players on our team develop new skills on and off the field that help them grow as players and individuals, preparing them for their lives as leaders!

Although we are lucky enough to have the support of the university and an amazing network of alumni, our club often struggles to keep the program affordable for the average college student. Our team often travels to other schools for tournaments and games, proudly representing the Forty Acres everywhere we go. These trips can range from Oklahoma, where we frequently play our friends across the Red River at SNU and OU, to Maryland, where we hope to make the journey for 7s Nationals this season! On top of these travel opportunities, our team must budget and plan for equipment, athletic training, and facility needs each season. Although we do our best to keep player dues low, as our team grows and reaches new levels of success, the funding needed to keep this momentum increases as well.

Every donation to our cause goes directly towards maintaining and improving the experiences of our Longhorn athletes! With your support, our club can continue to thrive and grow on and off the field! We were lucky enough to have a very successful 40 for Forty last year, and the money went towards new tackle pads, ruck pads, pennies, and so much more gear that we use and appreciate every practice and game. Fundraised money from this year will be used to provide additional new equipment to help us train, cover travel fees as we represent our school across the US, and improve the Texas Women's Rugby experience!

Keep Up With TWR!
