Did you know that UT students from every school and college visit the Blanton Museum of Art? Last year, a record 27,726 UT students from all nineteen colleges — from the McCombs School of Business to the College of Nursing — came through the museum’s doors. More than half visited as part of their coursework, engaging in unique gallery lessons created in collaboration with faculty. For many, the Blanton is their first-ever art museum visit — a powerful, life-changing experience!
The Blanton is one of the leading university museums in the country and the only accredited art museum in Central Texas, presenting world-class exhibitions and caring for its collection at the highest level.
The Blanton supports UT’s mission to provide students with a transformative education, and we need your help (and your horns up!) to celebrate and continue the museum’s impact on Longhorns. Your participation in 40 for Forty directly supports the Blanton’s educational and conservation efforts that benefit students and faculty across UT and the wider Austin community. Here's how your gift can help:
• $100 helps keep the public mural Verde, que te quiero verde by Carmen Herrera clean and pristine.
• $250 funds a curriculum-focused print display for a UT course in the museum’s H-E-B Study Room — one of the most active study rooms in the country.
• $500 supports conservation and care for artworks in the Blanton's collection.
• $1000 makes possible the annual Mindfulness Summit at the Blanton — free for all UT students.
Any amount ensures the Blanton remains a vital campus resource, creatively and meaningfully connecting Longhorns to the arts.
