During Big Orange Give, support the next generation of American military leaders through the Army ROTC General Scholarship Fund or the Air Force ROTC Detachment 800 Alumni Council Scholarship. Or direct your gift to the Veterans Success Center, which impacts nearly 700 former military service members making the often-difficult transition from soldier to student, or consider the Vols of Honor Endowment, which provides scholarships to dependents of fallen service members.

At the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, we are proud to be called Volunteers. Perhaps the greatest example of the Volunteer spirit is reflected in the men and women who have proudly worn the uniforms of our Armed Forces and stepped forward to be the next generation to defend our country and the freedoms we hold dear.
UT is proud to be the home to 662 student veterans, more than 200 Air Force and Army ROTC Cadets, as well as 850 students who are pursuing their degrees through the GI Bill. These military and veteran communities represent the best of our student body here on Rocky Top.
Through this year's Big Orange Give, you can support our veteran and military-affiliated students in their pursuit of a degree.
ARMY ROTC General Scholarship Fund
The UTK Army ROTC Scholarship Fund provides financial support for members of the Rocky Top Battalion who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership within the unit as well as deserving students who have documented financial barriers.
AIR FORCE ROTC Detachment 800 Alumni Council Scholarship
Providing scholarships for the future leaders of the US Air Force and Space Force is mission-critical for the AFROTC program. Your gift helps UT attract and retain the very best and deserving students to the program.
UTK Veterans Success Center
The Veterans Success Center opened its doors in 2018 with the goal of ensuring that every student veteran at the University of Tennessee has access to the resources to successfully complete their mission of obtaining a degree.
For veterans re-entering the classroom after their military service has concluded, the transition from soldier to student can be a difficult path to navigate. The Veterans Success Center not only provides a physical space for veterans to interact with one another, but the staff at the VSC has specialized training to assist students with the financial, academic, and mental stresses that are unique to our student veteran population.
Through programs such as the Veteran Impact Program, retention and graduation rates have dramatically risen for students who utilize the center and its services.
Your gift to the Veterans Success Center Support Fund provides critical funding to support our growing veteran student population.
Vols of Honor Scholarship Endowment
In 2021, the University of Tennessee earned the distinction of becoming the first and only university in the nation to formally partner with the Folds of Honor Foundation in its mission to support the families of those who have been killed or injured through military service or as a first responder.
Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded over 52,000 educational scholarships to students whose parent made the ultimate sacrifice. Here at UT Knoxville, more than 300 students have been awarded over $1.3 million in scholarships from Folds of Honor.
The goal of the Vols of Honor Scholarship Endowment is to stand in the gap for these families and eliminate any remaining financial need for students whose family has endured this tragic loss.
