The Tennessee RiverLine is raising funds to grow its Kayak Fleet, making restorative recreation experiences on the Tennessee River accessible to all at no cost. The RiverLine's existing fleet of 180 kayaks has already made 500 river recreation and stewardship events possible in RiverTowns communities, touching the lives of 30,000 participants who have made countless memories on the water.
Your Land-Grant Loyal gift to the Fleet Fund will outfit a RiverTowns community with:
- 16 Jackson Kayaks and Werner Paddles, manufactured in Sparta, TN
- Life jackets and safety equipment
- An aluminum-frame trailer for fleet transportation
As one RiverLine volunteer shared, "It has allowed people to see their community from a different perspective, and for many to be on the water for the first time."
Without adequate funding, purchasing and maintaining enough kayaks for river activities can be challenging. Your support helps build a reliable, well-equipped fleet, making it easier to organize paddling trips, host stewardship events, and welcome more people onto the water. Every contribution brings us closer to outfitting the next RiverTowns community and creating lasting outdoor experiences for all.
The Tennessee RiverLine connects communities from Knoxville, Tennessee, to Paducah, Kentucky, along 652 miles of the Tennessee River across four states. Its mission is to expand outdoor recreation, promote environmental stewardship, and connect people with the river through shared experiences and community involvement.
The RiverLine matters because it transforms the Tennessee River into a shared resource for recreation, connection, and conservation. By partnering with RiverTowns communities, the RiverLine opens access to the water for residents and visitors alike, many of whom are experiencing the river for the first time. These experiences build a sense of place, encourage environmental stewardship, and strengthen community ties along the length of the river.
By investing in the Tennessee RiverLine, donors help expand outdoor recreation, protect the river's natural resources, and ensure that people across four states have the opportunity to discover and enjoy the Tennessee River for generations to come.
