The University of St. Thomas provides a beautiful campus for its students. Located in the heart of Houston, campus has instant access to the nation’s 4th largest city. Nestled in the city’s Montrose District where world-class museums, art galleries, restaurants and shops abound, the campus combines urban and rural atmospheres which make a great HOME for all of our students. From Link Lee to Malloy to Guinan and soon, the new Center for Science and Health Professions, UST is home to 1,805 undergraduates.
City living does bring challenges for a young and growing athletic department. Our biggest challenge is providing athletic facilities comparable to the rest of campus. Celts Soccer and our 50 soccer student-athletes are forced to call the Houston Sports Park (HSP) our athletic HOME. Approximately 6 miles from campus, HSP is a terrific soccer-specific environment, but lacks a few basic amenities.
The Celt’s men’s and women’s soccer teams have been tough to beat on our HOME field. Now it is time to make them unbeatable! We are asking all St. Thomas Athletic and Celt Soccer supporters to assist us by raising funds toward improving HSP, our HOME soccer facility. These funds will be put toward building Player Shelters for our student-athletes and the Houston Sports Park.
With almost 60% of the funds required to build the Player Shelters already secured, we now need your assistance to raise the last $10,000. Help us make some HOME improvements!

It took a fantastic strike from 40 yards out in the 90th minute to get the victorious result the Celts so desperately needed. With under 75% of the funds raised going into the final weekend, the St. Thomas soccer teams found a superstar supporter to help them reach the $10,000. After getting off to a strong start, the Celts looked like they were going to struggle to reach their goal and secure sufficient funds to build the Player Shelters at the Houston Sports Park. We can now make the home improvements and make our “home away from home” even better.3285 days ago by Jacquelyn Olexa
Athletic Director Todd Smith was ecstatic with the entire campaign: “Thank you so much for everyone’s support and assistance in this endeavor. Our soccer student athletes work very hard and these shelters will serve as a terrific symbol of our appreciation. As hosts to the 2016 RRAC Men’s and Women’s Postseason Soccer Tournament, we are looking forward to showing off our new #USTSoccerHome!”
Go Celts!
Thank you so much to everyone who has already supported our #USTSoccerHome campaign with both their time and money.
We are almost to 70% of our financial goal and 60% done with the campaign.
However, we still have some game to play and it is important all of us keep working hard!
If you have not already done so, please help spread the word, find donors or contribute yourself.
It is the start of the second half and we are level. We have to start the second half ready to play!
We must set the tone for the second 45! We have to play to win! With only 10 days left in the campaign
We need everyone to step up and do their part to make sure we reach our goal.
Go Celts! #USTSoccerHome
