Help Us Keep Dreams Alive: Support International Student Scholarships at St. Thomas

At the University of St. Thomas, our international students bring the world to our doorstep—sharing diverse perspectives, enriching our classrooms, and building lifelong connections. Today, many of these students face unexpected and heartbreaking challenges that threaten their ability to complete their education.

Some come from countries currently experiencing war, civil unrest, or political instability. Others have families devastated by natural disasters—earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis. These crises not only disrupt lives back home but also severely impact students’ financial ability to stay enrolled.

Unlike U.S. citizens, international students have limited access to financial resources. They cannot take out traditional bank loans without a U.S. co-sponsor, and their visas restrict employment opportunities—especially in their first year. Despite their talent, dedication, and resilience, some have had no choice but to leave St. Thomas due to circumstances entirely beyond their control.
When an international student is forced to leave, our entire community loses. We lose their voice, their story, and the promise of what they will one day contribute to the world.

You can change that.

Your gift—no matter the amount—can be the bridge that helps a student stay in school, earn their degree and return home equipped to make a difference. With over 600 international students from nearly 90 countries, your support strengthens a growing global community right here at St. Thomas.

Please consider making a gift today.

Together, we can ensure that no student’s dream is cut short by tragedy—and that the light they bring to our campus continues to shine.

Thank you for your generosity and for standing with our international students.
