Summit Scholarships

At the College of Engineering, we believe talented students should have the opportunity to become engineers, regardless of where their college journey begins.

Summit Engineering Scholarships support academically talented transfer students from two-year institutions, including students from St. Thomas’ Dougherty Family College. Many Summit Scholars are first-generation college students or come from backgrounds where financial barriers can make completing an engineering degree more challenging.

Summit Scholars receive more than financial assistance. Through faculty mentorship, cohort-based programming, industry connections and hands-on learning opportunities, students build confidence, community and the skills they need to succeed at St. Thomas and beyond.

The impact is already clear: 19 Summit Scholars have earned their engineering degrees, and 15 are now working or conducting graduate research in engineering.
