International Student Union

The International Student Union (ISU) strives to create a welcoming and inclusive community where international and domestic students at St. Thomas can connect, find support and feel a sense of belonging. ISU provides resources, celebrates diverse cultures and creates opportunities for students to build friendships and navigate life on campus and beyond.

We are seeking funds to provide international snacks, food, drinks and activities that remind students of home and create a welcoming environment at our meetings and events. Your gift also will support bringing in speakers who have experienced the challenges and successes of navigating college in a different country and can share advice and support. Additionally, gifts will help us provide resources and assistance to our members as they adjust to college life and build a sense of belonging at St. Thomas.

A Note from Beemnet Sentayehu '27

"What I love most about ISU is that it truly feels like a home away from home. Before ISU, I felt that there was not much representation or a shared community for international students outside of OISS. With ISU, I have hope that it will become a place where students can feel accepted, understood and supported. I have big hopes for ISU and what it can become. I hope it continues bringing people together, creating friendships and building connections—just like it has brought me and my little family together. ISU is a community where everyone is welcomed, represented and treated with respect. Thank you for considering a gift today."
