Ethiopian and Eritrean Student Alliance

The Ethiopian-Eritrean Student Alliance at the University of St. Thomas is dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and sharing the rich traditions of Ethiopian and Eritrean cultures with the broader campus community.

We are seeking funds to help support events that celebrate and share Ethiopian and Eritrean culture with the St. Thomas community. Your gift will help us host events throughout the year, including our annual Culture Dinner, which is one of our biggest events. Funding will go toward traditional food, decorations, performances, activities, and other materials needed to make our events possible. Through these events, we hope to bring students together, create a welcoming community, and give students at St. Thomas the opportunity to learn more about and experience Ethiopian and Eritrean culture.

Thank you for making a gift to support our club!

A Note from Kidus Assefa '27

"When I first came to St. Thomas as a freshman, I only knew a couple of people and didn’t feel like I had many connections on campus. Joining EESA changed that. Now a senior, after four years in EESA, I’ve made so many friends, built meaningful connections and found a community that feels like home. EESA has also helped me learn more about my Ethiopian and Eritrean culture and my roots. Your gift can help make that same experience possible for future students by giving them a place to build friendships, find community and feel at home at St. Thomas. Thank you!"
