We March for Justice Civil Rights Study Trip

We March for Justice at the University of St. Thomas is more than a trip: it’s a transformative, week-long immersion into the history and ongoing work of the American Civil Rights Movement.

Through a partnership between the College of Arts and Sciences and the Selim Center for Lifelong Learning, students ages 18 to 85 travel together to pivotal sites across the South, from Montgomery and Selma to Memphis and the Mississippi Delta. Along the way, students study the landscape of justice in America through field experiences, museum visits, classroom discussions and meaningful encounters with surviving figures of the movement as well as contemporary activists.
Led by St. Thomas faculty in English, History and Social Work, this experience challenges students to expand their perspectives and better understand their role in advancing justice today.
