Send the next generation of journalists to the State Capitol.

Help us raise $9,000 to provide nine need-based scholarships for ThreeSixty Journalism’s 2027 Capitol Reporting Workshop.

For 25 years, ThreeSixty has prepared young Minnesotans to be sense makers, truth tellers and bridge builders for an equitable society through year-round multimedia journalism programs. One of them is our Capitol Reporting Workshop, where, for the past three winters, we have equipped 67 high school students to learn about state government by reporting on the state’s legislative session. Students:

• Identify and research public policy issues affecting their communities.
• Report at the Minnesota Capitol, interviewing lawmakers and advocates and attending committee meetings.
• Collaborate with their peers and professional journalist mentors to produce multimedia reporting for real audiences of thousands of Minnesotans in MinnPost, Sahan Journal, the Minnesota Star Tribune, KRSM Radio, WFNU Radio and more.

This transformative program supports young people to find purpose in public life. Every $1,000 we raise this Tommie Give Day creates a need-based scholarship for one student to participate in our 2027 Capitol Reporting Workshop.

Moving forward, I am committed to staying engaged, to bridging the gap between the Capitol and our communities, and to advocating for a more inclusive and representative democracy,” said Marquan Harper, a 2024 participant and current junior at the University of St. Thomas.
