The mission of the Film Society is to create a collaborative space where students with a passion for film can come together to explore various aspects of cinema. We aim to build meaningful connections within the community through networking opportunities, participation in film festivals and other film-related events. Our goal is to provide hands-on experiences in filmmaking and production, allowing students to develop their skills and work on creative projects in a supportive and educational environment. We also hold open lab and workshop hours, where students can work together, share ideas and assist each other in bringing their projects to life. In addition, the club will organize movie screenings as a way to appreciate and discuss a diverse range of films.
We are rising money for expanding our connection with the broader film community in the Twin Cities. Through our connections, we have managed to establish connections with MSP Film Society, and they offered a free membership to all of our club members. Buying the rights to screen a movie on campus is very expensive, so we are seeking funds to cover transportation costs for off-campus screenings.
