The 2024 ThreeSixty Homecoming campaign fundraising goal is $75,000. Thanks to our generous sponsors, ticket holders and donors who gave in advance, we have already raised $65,000. Help us reach our additional $10,000 goal on Homecoming night!
ThreeSixty Journalism, a nonprofit program of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of St. Thomas, uses the principles of strong writing and reporting to support diverse Minnesota high school students to tell the stories of their lives and communities. Youth learn technical, ethical and entreprenurial storytelling skills through year-round multimedia camps and workshops, becoming more driven, confident, tenacious and passionate in life in the process.
Completing one ThreeSixty program makes a student eligible to compete for one full-tuition scholarship to St. Thomas to study emerging media (journalism, strategic communications or digital media arts) each year. Since 2023, we have also given an additional $5,000 scholarship annually.
Additionally, ThreeSixty supports program alums to enter the industry by connecting them to mentors, sharing open roles, serving as references, and providing support as they transition into employment. Our program alums are evidence that our approach works and that we’re making a difference. Many of our program alums are the first in their families to go to college, and they currently hold positions in 13 Twin Cities newsrooms. One was recently elected to public office in the Twin Cities, and many more hold key communications positions in corporations, nonprofits and government locally and nationally.
Housed at St. Thomas since 2001, ThreeSixty Journalism launched in 1971 as part of a nationwide effort to increase the presence of minorities in newsrooms in order to better reflect and serve increasingly diverse communities. Homecoming is ThreeSixty’s annual fundraiser and community celebration. All dollars raised support program and post-secondary scholarships for students.
