Maine's public universities need your help.
On Tuesday, November 6. Mainers will have the opportunity to vote for Question 4, a bond that is critically important to USM- transformational in fact. I wanted to let you know what this would mean for USM and the University of Maine System.
What is Question 4, and who would benefit from it?
- Question 4 is a $49MM investment in all seven Maine public universities to support workforce development and job creation initiatives, as well as related infrastructure improvements critical to student success and Maine’s economic growth.
- The workforce development initiatives will help ensure our Maine graduates are job-ready in occupations where Maine most needs workers, including nursing, engineering, education and high growth STEM professions.
- The $49 million investment in all seven universities is less than half the cost of building one new high school in the state.
What can you do to help?
Our alumni, corporate and community partners, students, and faculty will be valuable voices in building public support for this bond between now and November 6. I hope you will join me in financially supporting, speaking in support of and voting Yes on question 4.
