One Month, One Voice:
An April Fundraising Campaign to Benefit the Stonecoast MFA Writing for Social Justice Scholarship Fund
Dear Stonecoast Community:
As part of our commitment to social justice in action, the Stonecoast MFA program has created a new scholarship to support writers who use their work to effect positive social change. We believe it is necessary to create spaces where such writers can work, regardless of financial background. We recognize that this work enriches both the Stonecoast program and the world at large.
In April, Stonecoast MFA launches One Month, One Voice: a call to action for the Stonecoast community to get creative, make your voice heard, and raise a total of $30,000 to help fund the scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of alumni, faculty, and students we've raised more than $18,000 so far. But with your support, the One Month, One Voice campaign will get us to our $30,000 goal and help provide significant financial support to one or more Stonecoast writers who are committed to writing for social justice.
Wherever you are, we invite you to join the movement! There are three ways to get involved:
- Become an Ambassador. Raise awareness for the cause by hosting a fundraising event in your community where people can gather, share their writing, learn more about the scholarship, and donate.
- Contribute to the fund. We can get to $30,000 by the end of April with your help!
- Help us get the word out by sharing this page far and wide to your networks.
We are certain that we can count on the Stonecoast community--with its signature vision, ingenuity, and generosity--to support this endeavor. Thank you for being part of Stonecoast’s commitment to social justice.
In solidarity,
The Stonecoast MFA Writing for Social Justice Scholarship Committee
