Brian Musto '12 was a 24 –year-old student at Cornell Law School when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Patients diagnosed in their twenties are affected right when their whole life is in front of them. After courageously fighting Hodgkin’s for four years, during which time he graduated with honors from Cornell, Brian lost his battle in January 2018.
His family (Maria Melgarejo '12, Alice Musto '84, Gerald Musto, Kevin Musto '10, Chris Musto '16 and Kate Musto '20) established the Brian Musto ’12 Memorial Fund to support University students who are battling illness, with preference to those battling cancer. Patients in this age bracket often are too old to receive help from pediatric organizations and too young to be completely financially independent.
“As a family, we’re happy to take some of the financial burden away from students dealing with illnesses – all in memory of Brian.”
– Alice Musto ’84
