SPARK is an amazing collaborative program between students from The University of Scranton and Scranton Preparatory School. It is a week-long summer opportunity at the Chapman Lake Retreat Center that serves the community's at-risk teens.
The program is quite literally the start of something new for our SPARKers. It ignites confidence, new friendships, generosity, and a sense of belonging – all of which they can take with them after the camp ends. It most definitely changes their lives for the better, and our student leaders get to be a part of that transformation by putting their Jesuit ideals into action.
A gift of $500 will sponsor a child or student volunteer at SPARK, which covers the cost of three meals a day, transportation to/from Chapman Lake, white water rafting, and a participation incentive at the end of the week.
Through donor support, we’ve been blessed to be able to offer SPARK for free to local youth, ages 12-16, who could otherwise not be able to afford this special mentoring opportunity.
Your support, in any amount, is greatly appreciated.
