First-generation (First-Gen) students are the first in their family to attend and graduate from a four-year university. USD is committed to fostering an inclusive culture and learning environment where students feel welcome and encouraged to succeed with a full sense of belonging and support via First Generation Student Scholarships.
The university's success relies on vital discourse and open exchange of ideas, grounded in lived experience. By weaving these values into USD's mission, the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES) aims to educate, train, and prepare future leaders who can diligently work with and serve individuals regardless of background, culture, or means.
Your dedication to SOLES' efforts to make education accessible to all helps to enrich the environment for all students, including those who are the first in their families to pursue a graduate education.
Gifts made to this cause help SOLES participate in the Nelson-Andrews Challenge, which makes SOLES eligible for $10,000 in bonus funding. When SOLES is one of the first five academic units to raise $5,000 in support of first-generation graduate school scholarships, these bonus funds will be awarded!
