In 2023, we launched BiGI, a bold initiative to address the significant barriers preventing equitable and inclusive learning environments for youth in San Diego County. BiGI empowers students facing challenges through programming designed to adapt to the unique developmental needs of neurodivergent learners, using a multi-faceted, identity-affirming approach that nurtures each individual’s inherent genius.
Through academic mentorship, culturally responsive strategies, and intentional support from our specially trained educators, BiGI fosters pathways to long-term success. By 12th grade, our scholars will be prepared to graduate from high school and enter college or university with the skills and knowledge needed to reach their academic and career goals.
With the induction of our fourth cohort in August 2026, BiGI continues to grow. With your support, we can deepen our impact — broadening pathways for system-impacted students, amplifying family advocacy, strengthening educator preparation, and advancing research that informs inclusive educational practice. Together, we can ensure that our scholars have the opportunity to realize their genius.
