This past spring we celebrated Dr. Dwyer's retirement from the department. The Tammy J. Dwyer Endowed Fellowship, named for our outstanding NMR spectroscopist, favorite chemistry Professor, and amazing research mentor, honors Tammy's legacy of providing students with research opportunities that set USD students apart! Donated funds will help us establish a sustainable way to support summer research experiences for Chemistry and Biochemistry majors, especially those pursuing graduate degrees.
The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department places experiential learning at the heart of training students to pursue STEM careers in industry, healthcare, academia, non-profits, the military and many other areas of our community. Undergraduate research experiences exemplify this student-centered, hands-on approach to nurturing our students’ research acumen.
