Support the Bried Family Scholarship for Sober Students!
My name is Jimmy Bried, and I have been clean and sober for 13 years. My sobriety date is December 25, 2011, and I graduated from the University of San Diego in 2016. To this day, those are two of my proudest accomplishments.
In my early years of sobriety, I lived in a sober living facility in San Diego and worked in construction. Construction taught me humility, discipline, and organization, among other things. It also helped me build the foundation to go back to school and earn a degree. I worked during the day and took night classes for two years to gain acceptance into the Business program at USD. From that point on, my life changed.
Today, I am fortunate to have a successful career in technology sales and earned my MBA from Pepperdine in 2019. While I am proud of these accomplishments, I also recognize that they were made possible in large part by the financial and emotional support of my family. I am eternally grateful to my family, employers, and friends who supported me on this path.
I understand that not everyone has access to the same support, and I want to do whatever I can to ensure at least one person has the opportunity to create the future they want for themselves. That’s why I am working with USD to pay it forward to the next generation of sober Toreros.
