What is NSBE raising funds for?

We are raising money for the National Society of Black Engineers 52nd Annual Convention in Baltimore, Maryland. This 2026 Annual Convention is a four-day event with an anticipated attendance of more than 15,000 participants, a Career/University Fair with more than 500 exhibitors and General Sessions with audiences of as many as 5,000 Convention-goers. Each year University of San Diego's Chapter takes 25+ students to this National Annual Convention, where students will have the opportunity to gain and interview for multiple full-time and internship jobs at many big companies like Nasa, Visa, Boeing, Apple, Microsoft, etc. As well as, succeed professionally and network with many different employers, professionals, and other students from different backgrounds. During the Annual Convention, the Society conducts organizational business; elects national and regional leaders; holds technical and scientific competitions; provides professional and personal development, networking and celebratory activities; and much more. This convention will give us the tools we need to succeed as a professional organization and chapter of Black Engineers and Students in STEM.

Mission of NSBE

The National Society of Black Engineers is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the United States. The mission of NSBE is "to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community."

Donations are applied to...

Donations will be applied to costs and expenses associated with sending students from University of San Diego to the NSBE National Convention in Chicago, IL. A breakdown of the cost are as follows: Flights, convention registration, hotel rooms, food, NSBE and sponsorship merch, and transportation.
