Sabri Shamoun Memorial First-Generation Scholarship

The Sabri Shamoun First Generation Scholarship supports law students who are the first in their families to attend and graduate from a four-year college.

For many first-generation students, the opportunity to pursue a legal education is both deeply meaningful and uniquely challenging. Without the benefit of family experience to help guide them through higher education and the legal profession, these students often navigate law school with limited mentorship and resources.

This scholarship helps ensure that first-generation students at the University of San Diego School of Law have the support, opportunities, and encouragement needed to succeed.

The scholarship was established in honor of Sabri Al Kas Shamoun,a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who believed deeply in hard work, opportunity, and the importance of supporting others.

Through the Sabri Shamoun First Generation Scholarship, that legacy lives on by helping the next generation of legal leaders—students who are forging new paths for themselves and their families—pursue their education and make a lasting impact in their communities.
