At the University of Rochester, the Undergraduate Student Experience focuses on how we prepare students for success—both during their time on campus and long after graduation. Research consistently shows that students who actively engage in campus life build meaningful connections, strengthen leadership skills, and are more likely to persist through graduation.
The student experience at URochester is vibrant and dynamic. Students participate in a wide range of organizations and experiential learning opportunities, including internships, research, and community-based initiatives. From student government and service organizations to world-class musical ensembles and interdisciplinary collaborations, our students play an active role in shaping campus life and enriching the broader university community.
Support for the Undergraduate Student Experience helps ensure that every student has access to opportunities that foster growth, belonging, and lifelong impact. Your gift helps create the connections and experiences that define a URochester education. 🎓✨
Hire Rochester—As part of the For Ever Better campaign, the University is launching a new signature internship initiative called the Hire Rochester Summer Internship Program through the Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Education & Connections. Available to undergraduates in the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, the School of Arts & Sciences, and the Simon Business School, the program is designed to strengthen career readiness, expand professional pathways for students after graduation, and provide critical funding for them to participate in high-impact experiential learning.
Scholarship Support—At the University of Rochester, scholarships help ensure that talented students can pursue their education regardless of financial circumstances. By reducing financial barriers, scholarship support allows students to fully engage in the academic, research, leadership, and extracurricular opportunities that define the URochester experience.
Scholarships not only make a URochester education more accessible—they empower students to focus on learning, build meaningful connections, and prepare for lives of impact. Your support helps attract exceptional students, strengthens our campus community, and ensures that financial need does not limit opportunity.
Rochester Traditions—Celebrate the traditions that unite Yellowjackets across generations! Rochester Traditions embody the spirit of the University, with events like the Candlelight Ceremony, Yellowjacket Weekend, Boar’s Head Dinner, and more bringing our community together. Support these shared experiences that make the University ever better and strengthen our bond as a proud alumni network
