At the University of Richmond, advancing inclusion, belonging, and access is a shared responsibility that strengthens our community. The Inclusion and Belonging Impact Fund supports initiatives that help UR remain a relentlessly welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, viewpoints, and experiences.

Consistent with the University’s mission to “educate students for lives of purpose, thoughtful inquiry, and responsible leadership in a diverse world,” UR is committed to fostering a culture where all students, faculty, and staff feel a deep sense of belonging. This commitment is reflected in the University’s strategic priority of Belonging & Community, one of five guiding pillars shaping UR’s future, and in a coordinated, campus-wide approach that supports meaningful engagement, learning, and connection.

• Build Bridges Across Differences Support dialogue and training programs, such as the Community Dialogue Network (CDN) and InclusiviTeas, that equip students, faculty, and staff with the skills and spaces to engage across differences, foster understanding, and strengthen inclusive leadership.
• Foster Student Engagement & Leadership Expand opportunities for student involvement through initiatives like the ICC Student Committee, empowering students to shape campus culture and advance inclusion and belonging among their peers.
• Strengthen Campus-Wide Collaboration & Impact Invest in initiatives such as the Inclusive Community Council (ICC), the Community of Practice (CoP), and the Shared Equity Leadership Network to foster collaboration, mentorship, and sustained institutional learning across the University community.
• Celebrate Community & Shared Values Support signature programs like the MLK Jr. Celebration and related initiatives that bring the campus together to reflect, learn, and honor our collective commitment to inclusion and belonging.
