Physics Department

Richmond’s physics faculty know that students learn best when they are challenged to uncover the secrets of nature in an independent, hands-on way. UR Physics combines classical learning and research, allowing students to participate in exciting coursework, unparalleled exploratory opportunities, and experiential learning that reinforces classroom teachings. The physics department is committed to developing a community of learners comprised of all who are interested in and passionate about physics.

Your generosity is integral to the work we do every day. Funds provided through donations like these supplement the university’s support and are put toward efforts such as providing transportation costs for student travel to conferences (i.e., AAAS, APS, APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics) and supporting the physics community events. Recently, the department hosted various speakers and held trivia nights, telescope nights, and deconstruction nights.
