The Military Science and Leadership Program is the home of the Army Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (SROTC). The program is dedicated to commissioning high-caliber and diverse future officers to lead U.S. Army Soldiers across the globe. The University of Richmond SROTC program, in partnership with four other Richmond area colleges and universities, prepares highly talented students for careers in the U.S. Army while they pursue the major of their choice. SROTC builds on exceptional scholastics, university athletics, and campus leadership opportunities to develop adaptive and resilient leaders. Students who complete the program hone leadership and management skills in weekly real-world scenarios that culminate in a 32-day summer training event at Fort Knox, Kentucky, integrated with students from all across the country. Upon graduation, students will be commissioned as Second Lieutenants, becoming platoon leaders responsible for the training, health, and welfare of up to 60 soldiers. Their experience, character, and attributes make them extremely desirable to civilian employers.
Your support provides invaluable resources so our students can develop their physical, intellectual, and leadership capabilities by participating in professional development conferences with Department of Defense leaders, field training throughout Virginia, and military training opportunities.
